A historic road cycling route full of challenges

Description

The route leads over 80 kilometers and 930 meters of elevation through some of the most beautiful and challenging landscapes of the region. The route, which was part of the Classic competition of the St. Pölten cycling marathon held until 2019, offers both sporting challenges and scenic highlights. Notable climbs include the Wetterluckn, Luft, and the demanding Plambacheck, which demand a lot from the riders but reward them with great views. The route goes through the Pielach valley, known for its picturesque nature. The return to St. Pölten along well-known and quiet cycling paths perfectly rounds off the route. This route offers a unique combination of sporting ambition and fascinating nature.

Landhaus St. Pölten – along the cycle path to Spratzern – Völtendorf – Wetzersdorf – Gasten-Fridau – Obergrafendorf – Klangen – Weinburg – Kammerhof – Hofstetten – Rabenstein – Wetterluckn – Luft – Marbach – Kirchberg – Rabenstein – Plambacheck – Aigelsbach – Kammerhof – Weinburg – Obergrafendorf – Ebersdorf – Pummersdorf – Nadelbach – St. Pölten

Access by car via the A1 and S33, motorway exit St. Pölten-Nord or St. Pölten Ost.

Parking

In the government district area, paid underground parking spaces are available (partially free in the evenings and on weekends)

St. Pölten is ideally accessible by train via ÖBB and Westbahn. The main station of St. Pölten is only a few minutes by bike from the start and end point.
