Join BAKABU and his friends on a journey of discovery through St. Pölten: the children’s adventure trail combines an exciting story with little adventures and special spots in the town centre.
BAKABU, the blue earworm with the red nose and sailor’s cap, is out and about in St. Pölten with his friends Mimi Lou, Charlie Gru and Lups the wolf. Their mission: they must find the mysterious wolf song so that they can howl heartily with the wolves at the next full moon.
The adventure stretches for around 1.6 kilometres, from Rathausplatz to the KinderKunstLabor. Along the way, there are eight interactive stations to discover via QR codes. Through play, children learn more about St. Pölten and discover the town from a whole new perspective.
The route takes you through the city centre, past both well-known and lesser-known spots. There’s plenty to discover along the way: listen to the town hall’s carillon, explore a giant spider’s web or dance with the water from a fountain – you’re guaranteed never to get bored here.
The stories and adventures at each stop can be accessed directly via smartphone. As well as text, there is also audio content – narrated by actor and entertainer Christian Tramitz. This turns the stroll through the town into an interactive family adventure.
The Children’s Adventure Trail is easy to navigate and suitable for pushchairs. It starts at Rathausplatz, and from there continues via Frauenplatz, Riemerplatz, Brunngasse and Kremser Gasse towards Domplatz and Alumnatsgarten. The final stop is at the KinderKunstLabor.
