Tricky puzzles, a mysterious mission and St. Pölten’s town centre as the backdrop: on the ‘Die Zeit vor Morgen’ escape trail, teams set out to track down a missing PhD student and experience the provincial capital from a completely new perspective.

A mission through space and time

A PhD student has vanished without trace, and a mysterious rift in the space-time continuum is threatening the town. Now it’s up to the team to follow his trail, solve the puzzles and restore balance to time.

Equipped with a toolkit and a smartphone, the mission takes you along a route of around 2.5 kilometres through the historic centre of St. Pölten. At seven stations, you’ll find analogue and digital tasks, hidden clues and surprising connections.

St. Pölten from a new perspective

The Escape Trail takes you past well-known squares, historic buildings and special spots in the city centre. Real-life figures and stories from St. Pölten’s past become part of the adventure.

A keen eye, the ability to piece things together and teamwork are essential. The provincial capital becomes a vast playing field, and the city walk turns into an exciting journey through space and time.

How the Escape Trail works

  1. Collect the toolkit from the tourist information centre on Rathausplatz.
  2. Open the web app on your smartphone.
  3. Follow the clues together through the city centre.
  4. Solve analogue and digital puzzles at seven stations.
  5. Find the missing PhD student and close the rift in the space-time continuum.

The web app works without installation, a user account or logging in. One smartphone is enough for the whole group. If the team gets stuck on a puzzle, the app provides clues at various levels of difficulty.

Solve the puzzles together and save time

The Escape Trail is suitable for two to eight people aged 15 and over and is a great idea for an outing with friends, family or colleagues. For around two and a half to three hours, team spirit, creativity and a keen eye for hidden clues are essential.

The team decides for itself at what pace it wants to follow the story and how many clues it wishes to use for help.

Collect your toolkit and start the mission

The toolkit contains everything you need for the puzzles along the route. It is available from the tourist information office on Rathausplatz. That is also where the mission through St. Pölten begins.
