Description

In the heart of St. Pölten´s government district there is a world full of history and nature waiting to be explored – all can be found in the Museum of Lower Austria. The nature zone of the museum, the House of Nature (“Haus der Natur”) presents Lower Austria´s natural diversity and emphasizes the region´s wealth of wildlife. You don’t have to leave the museum to hike an epic trail leading from the idyllic, sunny mountains into the green lowlands, even passing spectacular caves underground. Constantly changing special exhibitions about flora and fauna will make your visit an unforgettable experience.

For history buffs, the House of History (“Haus der Geschichte”), opened in September 2017, informs curious visitors about the historical development of Lower Austria. Over a total area of 3000 m2, the House of History has on display more than 2000 objects from regional, national as well as international places and lenders. The focus of the exhibition lies on the second half of the 19th century until now.
