Stadtmuseum St. Pölten 
    

The Stadtmuseum St. Pölten (City Museum) impresses with its archaeological department, which presents an extensive collection of prehistoric and early historical objects as well as exhibits from Roman St. Pölten. Another section is dedicated to Art Nouveau.

Museum am Dom St. Pölten

The Museum am Dom, which was founded in 1888, is to be found in a former Augustinian monastery that dates back to the eighth century.  It presents an extensive collection of sacred art with a great variety of sculptures, paintings, altars, liturgical utensils and vestments.

Museum Niederösterreich – history and nature under a single roof  
    

The Haus der Geschichte (House of History) focuses on the history of Lower Austria, Austria and Central Europe from the first settlements to the present day. The Haus für Natur (House for Nature) is dedicated to an exploration of the varied natural spaces to be found in the federal state of Lower Austria, including flora, fauna and cultural-historical contexts.

Experience St. Pölten! A guided tour of the city

Dive into the flair of the charming baroque structures and art-nouveau buildings in the city centre. Explore the cathedral and the former Collegiate Church of the Canons Regular of St. Augustine. Find out what the excavations at the Domplatz where the cathedral is are all about. Enjoy culinary delights, for example, at the farmers’ market every Thursday and Saturday.
