Description
The Mariazell Railway connects the Dirndl Valley with the Mariazell region - a modern, climate-friendly transport link between St. Pölten and Mariazell. Impressive views accompany the journey, especially in the Ötscher-Tormäuer Nature Park, where the striking Ötscher is always in view, and numerous hiking trails, cycle routes and excursion destinations along the route are easily accessible without a car. There is also space for bicycles on the trains - ideal for excursions to the Traisental cycle route, Pielachtal cycle route or selected mountain bike trails (advance reservation is recommended).
Trains run daily at hourly intervals, at some times even every 30 minutes. Night-time connections ensure a safe and comfortable journey even late at night.
Travel on the Mariazell Railway makes an active contribution to climate protection. Tickets are available online, on the train or at the Infocenter. Numerous discounts are recognized, including ÖBB Vorteilscard, Österreichcard, TOP-Jugendticket (also during the vacations), NÖ Familienpass and Wilde Wunder Card.
