Motorikpark Sturm 19 Park

The former soccer pitch now offers space for a diverse leisure program.

"The area is to be made accessible for future generations. The park will invite people to walk and linger and will be equipped with a water feature for children, trampolines, a beach volleyball court and a fitness facility. There will also be a playground and hammocks," reveals Mayor Matthias Stadler during the planning phase.

Wide range of uses for Sturm 19 Park

Sturm 19 Park offers a wide range of leisure activities: "Exercise, sport and play can take place here in a variety of ways. Large swings, a water playground and a climbing combination invite you to balance, climb and play. A beach volleyball court, calisthenics equipment and a basketball hoop ensure interaction and fun," explains Anna Detzlhofer from D/D Landschaftsplanung.

The varied interplay of open lawns and dense planting, intensive sports use and quiet natural zones makes Sturm 19 Park an attractive destination for young and old at all times of the year.

Nature experience and recreation

Nature experiences are also provided for in the new park. A community garden, a spacious biodiversity zone and many climate-friendly trees create a pleasant atmosphere and provide sufficient habitat for flora and fauna. In the biodiversity garden, the focus is on observing nature, it can be entered with care and offers different flowering aspects in every season.

The history of Sturm 19, which gave the park its name, is honored by the preservation of the grandstand and its faithful restoration. The remaining floodlight masts and the spacious lawn are also reminders of the historical use of the site.

An on-site garden base, a toilet container and lighting along the main paths round off the diverse range of activities on offer and promote harmonious coexistence. A container with a pergola is available for other activities.
