The Ratzersdorfer See and Viehofner Seen lakes offer refreshing nature experiences.
The Ratzersdorfer See and Viehofner Seen lakes offer refreshing nature experiences.
Lake Ratzersdorf and the Viehofen lakes together form a versatile recreational area. Well-maintained, mostly flat paths lead along the shores and allow for relaxed walks, running laps or short breaks in nature. Reed zones, meadows and groups of trees characterize the landscape and create a peaceful, natural atmosphere. Seating areas and viewpoints invite you to linger, while the lakes provide a pleasantly fresh environment, especially on warm days. Thanks to their easy accessibility, the lakes are a popular recreational area for all age groups.
The starting point is the parking lot at Lake Ratzersdorf. From the parking lot, follow the lakeside path to the left along Lake Ratzersdorf. The path runs directly along the water the entire way to the end of the lake. At the end of the lake, keep left and take the underpass or connecting path to the Viehofner Lakes. First, you’ll walk around the Kleine Viehofner See, followed by a loop around the Große Viehofner See. At each fork in the trail, stay on the path closest to the shore. After circling the Großer Viehofner See, the trail continues to the left back toward the Traisen River and eventually returns to the Ratzersdorfer See. There, follow the lakeside path to the left around the lake until you reach the starting point again. The loop trail ends at the parking lot at the Ratzersdorfer See.
