The panoramic trail on the western high terrace in the north of the city offers a magnificent view over the city of St. Pölten. An old wine cellar lane near the residential buildings at the foot of the Kremser Berg, ascending westwards, forms the entrance.
In spring, the larkspur cloaks the slopes in enchanting purple, while the steep loess walls on the edge of the terrain, unique in the entire urban area, serve as a habitat for cavity-nesting birds and insects that is worth protecting. Even kestrels have chosen the difficult-to-access loess walls as their breeding ground and use dead branches as lookout points for hunting.
Accessible year-round, but the path is not plowed or salted in winter. Therefore, it may be closed during the winter.
From the parking lot on the L100 (Kremser Landstraße), cross the street and follow the path branching off to the left toward Krems. After a left turn, walk through Gartenstadt and continue straight through Lehmbodengasse. At the end, follow the footpath to the right next to Robiniengasse 57; turn left before the field and, at the next left-hand curve, turn left onto Panoramaweg (closed in winter).
The path leads through the park with its observation tower and continues past the farmyard to Weiterner Straße. Continue straight ahead; on the opposite side, turn left after the row of trees and, at the fork in the path, take the left forest path downhill. Follow Weiterner Kellerweg to Weiterner Straße, turn right there, and after about 50 meters, turn right onto Rendl-Keller-Gasse.
At the end, turn right before the first house, cross Weiterner Straße, and follow the familiar path through the park, Gartenstadt, and Lehmbodengasse back to the parking lot.
